Job Description

Maintain the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the physical asset of the property under the direction of the Maintenance Director. 
 

This position requires a honest and trustworthy individual who has experience in the hospitality or senior living field.  Maintenance skill set is a requirement.  This is a large upscale community set on 20 acres, with 363 apartments and large area common spaces.  Over 400 residents call Maravilla their home.

Essential Duties: 

  • Must have great English communication skills; written and spoken.
  • Responsible for the completion of all Work Order requests as assigned. 
  • Complete make-ready process of vacant apartments as directed by the Maintenance Director. 
  • Responsibly cares for Maravilla property and residents' personal property as though it is your own. 
  • Abides by our "Preventative Maintenance Program". 
  • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled. 
  • Complete grounds work as directed by Maintenance Director, which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas. 
  • Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined. 

Qualifications

  • High school education and up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
  • Knows how to fix things, troubleshoot and respond to various emergencies like water leaks, etc.
  • Confidence to assist other staff during a medical emergency when needed.

Physical Demands:

ƒ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

ƒ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

ƒ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

ƒ While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to body fluids, infection, odors, and behavior of residents.
