Navigating success: life in a senior living sales job

To give you a sense of a typical day of a sales professional at SRG, we sat down with Codi Mesa, our Sales Coordinator extraordinaire at The Village at Ocotillo. Codi explains what fills her moments with purpose:
What about the Sales job at SRG caught your eye?
Having worked at The Village at Ocotillo for 10 years I have always been eager to grow. Whether it be in a current position or a new role, I want to learn all that I can.
The Sales position caught my eye because I wanted to learn the back-end operations and revenue side of this business. It is exciting to meet with new people every day and help them understand the value our community has that will enhance their lives.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The thing I enjoy most about my job, that makes it so fulfilling, is the interaction I get with new residents and helping them get connected to the residents that currently live here.
I love seeing a new resident at a meal making new friendships with others or attending a morning fitness class.
How has SRG supported your career development and what opportunities have you had to progress?
SRG has supported my career development in many ways, the biggest being that they have always encouraged me to shadow or learn other roles no matter what position I have held.
While I was an Activities Assistant, I was encouraged to learn the operations side of the department and when I was an Activities Director, management encouraged me to sit in on tours and learn some of the sales process. That newfound experience helped me to move over to the Sales department, where I'm currently working as a Sales Coordinator.
What's been your most epic moment at the company so far?
The moment I have most enjoyed at the company was when I was promoted from Activities Assistant to Activities Director!
I worked hard to learn and prove myself while in the assistant position. It was great to see how excited my team was for me, and how they were advocating for me to get the Director role when it was available.
What makes SRG different from any other company?
SRG is different from other companies because they really care about their staff and residents. They are quick to take care of major concerns and want the best for residents and employees, and they encourage growth with opportunities to build your experience.
