Jack’s success story: from dining to Move-In Coordinator

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I’ve been with Villa Hermosa in Tucson AZ for almost 4 years now. I started off downstairs in the Dining and Food Services, where I gained experience as a dining room server, a trainer, shift lead and supervisor.

I’m now with Villa Hermosa’s Sales and Marketing team as a Move In Coordinator. I love working in the Sales & Marketing Department, I have learned so much and feel as though I’m thriving in this new position.

When I’m not working, I’m an avid reader and book collector. I enjoy going to Barnes and Noble to pick out a good book and finding a great spot to get comfortable and read. I also love to go book thrifting – it’s where I pick up one of a kind books from so many amazing authors!

What does a Move-In Coordinator do?

Every day offers something new, but the typical day-to-day for a Move-In Coordinator in senior living involves checking in with our new Residents and ensuring all needs are met. This happens prior and post physical move in. 

Completing required community paperwork is a key part of my job, as well as helping the Sales team towards community census goals and ensuring community ambiance and overall appeal are met for Residents and Prospective Residents. 

My day can also include checking on vacant units to ensure rent readiness, especially for incoming residents.

What caught my eye about the Move-In Coordinator position was the opportunity to progress and do something new yet remain in the community I love!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is being able to truly welcome all our new residents and ensure that they made the right choice with Villa Hermosa & SRG! I have met so many amazing residents and I’m able to be a part of their story.

How has SRG supported your career development and what opportunities have you had to progress?

SRG has supported my career development by allowing me to progress in an upward direction because of my efforts and hard work with SRG. Villa Hermosa has been my first place of work for the last 4 years and I look forward to the years to come!

What's been your most epic moment at the company so far?

My most EPIC moment at SRG so far has been the overwhelming support from my peers and most importantly our residents! 

I always receive overwhelming praise from residents who first met me when I started as a server in our restaurant. They continue to motivate me to grow even more. The connections and meaningful relationships are what make my job truly fulfilling.

What makes SRG different from any other company?

What makes SRG different than other companies is that your career path is what you make it! Everybody starts somewhere but only you can determine where and who you will be.
